I usually go for dividend fund nowadays because it is one way of profit booking when market has gained a lot. I do make sure that those dividends are reinvested at appropriate times so that I don't fall behind growth.
SIP is also a good option to invest. I usually invest regularly on my own across different funds which I think is good at a particular time instead of putting money in same fund every month. This is required for sectoral funds because sectorals funds can be volatile and the given sector wont be in flavour for all the time so need to switch between sectors one in a year.
What do you think are good sectors to bet on in 2010? For diversification you can buy sectoral fund from that sector so that you have various stocks of that sector in your basket.

Even i think investment regularly on across different funds which I think is good at a particular time instead of putting money in same fund every month.
I have always been a big fan of the Vanguard Family of funds and even more specifically the STAR Fund which has the ticker "VGSTX"
I enjoyed my first visit at your blog and will be back again before to long.
I to have a finance blog though I write much more towards finance and entertainment where they meet in a slim specturm of instances.

Thank you very much for writting this article. I am in the process of writting a website which will allow musicians to create an account in which they can have their songs posted and information about them and their band on it in order to help them spread their name and receive feedback on their music. The problem i found was would someone take my site seriously when it first starts out. I figured the more credible it was and the more believable it was the better it would grow.This article has helped me tremendously and will hopefully improve my site.
